‘1 Man 365 Films 365 Days’ – Day 14

There was no viewing on day 13 as a brief rest was needed!

But nonetheless it resumed today by watching a Christmas film in January, which seemed a little odd!

#13 / 365 – ‘A Christmas Story’ (1983) – 94 mins
IMDB Challenge #9 / 250 – Ranked #242 – Via iTunes

Little Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley) only wants one thing this Christmas a ‘Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-Shot, Range Model Air Rifle’ to which his mother (Melinda Dillon) shouts “No, you’ll shoot your eye, out“, so he sets out convince everyone otherwise.

With much affectionate humor and some great narration throughout from the films writer, Jean Shepherd, it only as a couple of memorable scenes to boot and one in which Ralphie has a dream about getting his Red Ryder gun and saving his family from a bunch of evil villains.

Unfortunately ‘A Christmas Story’ this is nothing more than your average predictable TV movie that are in circulation for that time of the year and is laughable for it being compared to the quintessential, Christmas films of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘Miracle on 34th Street’
